We're sure you can sense the weariness in people’s hearts right now… perhaps even in your own heart.
It’s a difficult time we’re facing—and many people are discouraged. Yet at the same time, we know from God’s Word that life can be full of joy even in tough times.
Why? Because of Christ. He alone can make our weary hearts rejoice!
Many of has have come to the realization that the upcoming holiday season will look different this year—and will likely be even harder for those who are already feeling the struggle of being isolated from family and friends.
But we've come to believe more and more that the meaning of Christmas 2020 will be even more poignant than in years past.
We most likely won’t be rushing to parties and malls. We’ll have more time to be still and quiet our hearts as we focus on the One we are celebrating, and the reason our weary souls can rejoice.
The words of the great Christmas hymn, O Holy Night, come to mind…
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
We desperately need a “thrill of hope” more than ever. And Jesus Himself is that source of hope for our weary world. He tells us, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
So, while we wrestle with ongoing challenges, uncertainty, and loss, our Lord walks with us, and reveals Himself to us, all the more.
He is our unshakeable hope, our glorious morn, and why our hearts rejoice!
To help you celebrate that hope this Christmas—and to thank you for your gift today—we’d like to send you Stuart and Jill’s 25-day Advent devotional, Meet Him at the Manger, as well as the companion audio version read by Jill herself.
These resources will help you focus on the One whose birth and life changed the world, and who still holds you in His hands today. You’ll be both uplifted and refreshed in the weeks leading up to Christmas… so please request your resources when you give.
I truly believe Telling the Truth exists for such a time as this. And through your generous support of this work, you’re bringing hope to weary and burdened souls and helping them experience Life in Christ.
Marji from Australia wrote to share how you’ve helped strengthen her by sharing biblical teaching with her on radio and online…
“You’ve not only encouraged me, but I’ve been able to share your messages with my friends. These days are distressing but after hearing Pete’s message on Daniel chapter 11, I’m so encouraged to just keep trusting God.”
Thank you for your gift today to help reach more people like Marji with the hope of Jesus.
The team at Telling the Truth and I are praying that you too will be encouraged to keep trusting God in every circumstance. God bless you!
