God has a plan to change the world through you. It’s not hyperbole. He actually wants to use you to transform lives and make an impact in eternity. How?

By sharing the hope that is in you!

Sometimes God asks us to speak to someone about Jesus, about our faith, and we don’t feel qualified. We worry that if we have a conversation with this person it might harm the relationship. Or, we’re not sure if we can answer the questions that are going to come.

But if we step into what we’re being asked to do, the Holy Spirit will give us, in that moment, the words we need. That’s a promise from Scripture.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27)

When you don’t know what to say, when you don’t know what to pray, Scripture says to ask the Holy Spirit and He will give you an answer. He never calls without equipping, it wouldn’t be fair! He wouldn’t tell you to go out into all the world to tell the world about Christ without giving you the power to do it.

He needs you to say Yes, trust, and step forward with Him empowering you.

Don’t worry about putting people off because you think you’ll do it badly. Nobody ever learned to do something well without starting. You first learn to play the piano by playing “Chopsticks.” Well, it’s the same learning to talk for Jesus. Just be willing to share what you know, not what you don’t know. If you can’t answer a question, just say, “Good question. I don’t know the answer to it, but I do know that there is an answer. Let’s meet again to chat about it.”

It’s better to give that explanation than a bad answer that you stumble over and make up as you go.

But it all starts with you and me being willing to take a step of faith. That step is essential if people are going to hear about Jesus and the life-giving hope He brings.
