One of my deepest griefs for the church is many haven't fully unwrapped the gift of grace. Instead of diving into the richness of God's grace, we only get a small taste of it.
A counselor shared this with me…
Think about all the sins you've ever committed. Imagine what your life would look like if you experienced the negative consequences for every single one of them!
Thankfully, God—in His infinite wisdom and overflowing grace—doesn't allow this. Isn't that incredible? And more good news! His grace is still the reason for when He does allow us to experience the consequences of sin.
You might ask: How could consequences ever be a sign of His love and grace?
God allows you to experience the consequences for your sin because He loves you too much not to! Sometimes it's so you can learn Life-giving lessons and grow. But even then, God stays in us, loving us every step of the way. That's
how extravagantly God loves you. It's just a little touch of the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:7–8).
You and I have much to be grateful for and an incredible message of God's love and grace to share with others.
