If God is truly all-powerful and loving, and if with the snap of His fingers He could stop our suffering right now, then why doesn't He? Well, take a look with me at 2 Corinthians 4:7. It says, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

You and I are the jars of clay. And the treasure—the Light of the world, Jesus Christ—has been placed inside of us. He saves us and indwells us by grace and through faith in Him. But why would God put something so precious as Jesus in us—people who are as fragile and prone to cracking as a clay jar? It's because in the darkness, the light will show through our cracks.

God allows suffering in your life and mine so that Jesus may be revealed in our body. We carry the light of Christ. And through our cracks, the life of Jesus shines so others may see Him.

Maybe today, you have an open wound and you're wondering when God is going to heal it. Cling to the knowledge that He is right there with you through any and all circumstances—and find peace in knowing that through your cracks and brokenness, the world can see Jesus.
