Everything

Get it?

Marching is pretty safe. Dancing can be dangerous. I mean, you could trip and fall. Others might point and criticize as you move in new freedoms

First things first

Who you are in Christ comes first. What you do comes second. It’s absolutely essential that we get the sequence right. We can only do when we know who we are

We dance because of what He did

Back in the day, the church at Corinth was an absolute mess. Sure, they were a holy mess because they were saints in Christ, but their behavior was pathetic.

Freedom not to sin

I respect people who fear that dancing in a honky-tonk could lead to sin. Yeah, I sure wouldn’t step foot on the dance floor with anyone but my wife.

Making the grade

The Bible isn’t all good news. The book of Romans, for example, is brutally honest about our starting GPA in life. In chapters 1 through 3, Paul

Beyond hope

Did you ever read something in a book or hear a promise in an infomercial and think, Yeah, that could be true. Maybe it is. Oh, I HOPE it’s true.

Taking a beating?

I’ve been marching almost my entire life… that is, until I learned how to dance. Marching is slavery. It’s adhering and imitating and fitting in

Why? Because

Learning to dance seems so unnatural at first. That evening I first stepped onto the honky-tonk dance floor in Fort Worth, I was so, so self-conscious.

Following your heart

Sometimes, I wonder if we have a full understanding of the insidious life-sucking nature of spiritual marching. In most cases, it looks so darn good...

Calling it quits

Marching has its purposes in the military and in bands, but in Christianity, it can kill you. It kills your joy, it kills your energy, and it kills your passion for Jesus
