Why Christ Came

Stuart Briscoe

Here's something to ask yourself: Is all of the activity around Christmas keeping me from experiencing Christmas?

It may sound like an oxymoron, but it's not. Christmas has become so full of sales, parties, and wrapping gifts that it's easy—too easy—to become distracted from the true meaning of this special time. Have you stopped to really reflect on why Jesus came to earth for you? Are you profoundly awestruck that the Creator of the world reached down from heaven, through Christ, just for you? Why would He do that?

In this series from Stuart, he strips away the distractions and shares four reasons why Jesus came.

Messages From This Series:

  1. 1. For the Salvation of Sinners

    Stuart Briscoe

The majority of people in America know that Christmas originally had something to do with Christ coming into the world. But that does not mean they understand why Christ came. But Scripture is perfectly clear on the issue: “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Tim. 1:15). What does that mean? How did He do it? So what?

    Scripture:  1 Timothy 1:15 - 1:17
