The Best of 2019

Stuart and Jill Briscoe

It doesn’t matter what the struggle is—worry, jealousy, fear, or some other sin—and it doesn’t matter how monumental the struggle might feel. God is always at work. You can take comfort knowing that God has a plan to use every situation for His eternal purposes.

But knowing this is far different than living it out. When life feels out of control, or we’re faced with adversity, how do we make resting in Him and His strength our default setting?

Pete, Stuart, and Jill Briscoe will remind you of God’s ever nearness in their 6-message series The Best of 2019. This series features the most requested Bible teaching from the past year and will help you grasp God’s promise of rest, put aside the earthly things that consume your mind, and help you experience the peace of Christ in your heart.

Messages From This Series:

  1. 1. Martha—Busyness

    Jill Briscoe

What does your daily schedule look like? Is it full of errands and events? Sometimes we become workaholics and worriers, filling our days with too many tasks and constant concerns about things we can’t control rather than taking time to focus on the most important thing of all. In this message, Jill uses the example of Martha to show us instead how Jesus would want us to fill our time.

    Scripture:  Luke 10:38 - 10:42

  2. 3. Praying for the Family

    Jill Briscoe

It’s easy to get discouraged when we’re praying for a family member or a loved one and we just don’t see God answering our prayers. In those times, we might tend to tell God how and when He should answer the prayer instead of having faith that His answer to our prayers might be in a way or at a time that is different than we imagine—but better!

In this message, Jill gives us the example of Elijah and the widow and her son at Zarephath. Sharing her own personal stories, Jill encourages us to keep praying for our loved ones in any circumstances.

    Scripture:  1 Kings 17:7 - 17:24

  3. 4. The Answer to Anxiety

    Stuart Briscoe

Anxiety can be described is a low-grade, ongoing feeling of dread and stress—and is extremely debilitating.  As a result of situations in which we find ourselves in the 21st Century, many people are going through life experiences that are anxiety-producing! The question is: How do we cope?

In this message, Stuart Briscoe takes us to Philippians 4, where the apostle Paul—writing from prison—spoke about how rejoicing and thanks-giving lead to an understanding of the inner peace of God. Learning to live in and experience the presence of His peace offers the answer to our anxiety.

    Scripture:  Philippians 4:4 - 4:9
