Making God Smile

Do you have an effect on how God feels? Do your actions, thoughts, or feelings make God happy or sad? To know the answer, you only need to look to Jesus. Jesus lived to bring His Father pleasure. In John 5:30, Jesus said, "For I seek not to please myself but Him who sent me." This contrasts sharply with the powerful human tendency to want to please ourselves. But Jesus wasn't the only one who wished to make God smile. Speaking about the Lord, the apostle Paul said, "We make it our goal to please Him" (2 Cor. 5:9). Perhaps you, too, would like to make God smile. But how do we do that?
