Hope for Your Marriage

Pete Briscoe

You are in the center of a battle—a battle to break up your marriage. There are so many forces tearing marriages apart little by little. And much of the time, we're oblivious to the gradual breakdown of our relationships. You may be raising kids, striving for success in your career, or taking care of elderly parents. Then suddenly, years into the marriage, you look across the table at your spouse and realize you're angry, disconnected, or just hopeless... and you aren't really sure why.

Think it can't happen in your marriage? Or are you already in that place and think God can't save your marriage? He can! He will! If you are at a crossroads in your marriage and think you are alone, this series by Pete Briscoe will show you how Christ can breathe new life into your relationship with your husband or wife.

Messages From This Series:

  1. 1. Lies that Can Ruin a Marriage

    Pete Briscoe

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light and find out what pleases the Lord." (Ephesians 5:8-10)

You are being fed lies about marriage. Satan uses popular culture, books, movies, and even other people to tell you what marriage "should" be. No wonder so many couples become unsatisfied and look elsewhere to find happiness. Satan's ultimate goal is to divide husbands from wives and destroy families, and he'll use anything at his disposal to do it. Pete spotlights five lies that can devastate your marriage. Listen to them, and then find out how you can guard against them and find hope for your marriage again.

    Scripture:  Ephesians 5:8 - 5:10

  2. 2. Fixing a Broken Marriage

    Pete Briscoe

Oftentimes, we blame our spouse for the problems in our marriages and then set out trying to change them. However, it's God's job to fix our spouses, not ours. And, if we're really honest, He probably needs to fix us, too.

In this message, Pete Briscoe teaches from 1 Thessalonians on how to repair our less than perfect marriages. Surprisingly, it has more to do with us individually than with our spouses!

    Scripture:  1 Thessalonians

  3. 3. Becoming a Spirit-Led Spouse

    Pete Briscoe

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." (Galatians 5:13)

What's the key to a great marriage? It's something soon-to-be-married couples ask all the time! The answer: two people walking in the Spirit, loving one another. Put another way, you can choose to serve yourself (flesh) or serve your spouse, empowered by the Spirit! Your choice determines what kind of marriage you'll have. In this teaching, Pete addresses three questions:

    - How do I know when I’m in the flesh or in the Spirit?

    - How do I avoid the flesh?

    - How can I get into the Spirit?

    Scripture:  Galatians 5:13 - 5:26
