Use of Internet Protocol Address
We may use your Internet protocol (IP) address for several reasons: to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our website, to help identify you and your shopping cart, and to gather broad demographic information.
Use of Email Address and Email Subscription Information
Our site’s email subscription area may require customers to supply contact information, such as name and email address, and possibly demographic information such as your ZIP code, age or income level. We may use this information to send you promotional materials from our ministry. When you subscribe to email devotionals, you will also automatically be subscribed to receive ministry updates, offers, news, and broadcast information by email. Certain activities, such as creating an account on our mobile app, registering for an event, or making a donation, will also subscribe your provided email address to these promotional emails. However, users may opt out of — or opt in to — these promotional e-mail messages at any time (see Opt Out/Opt In, below).
Use of Demographic Information
We also may collect demographic and profile data that we use to tailor your experience at tellingthetruth.org. Based on this information, we may display products and content we feel might interest you.
Use of Order/Donation Information
When you place an order or give a donation, tellingthetruth.org requests information such as contact information, credit card number and possibly demographic information. The contact information you provide is used to send you orders, process your donation, or send you company information and contact you if necessary. Your financial information is used for the sole purpose of billing you for products, donations and/or services. Demographic data that may be collected is collected to personalize future visits by displaying the content we feel would interest you most.
Tellingthetruth.org features security measures to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information placed under our control. Servers are behind a firewall utilizing deep packet inspection for added security. Credit card information is transferred by SSL, which encrypts all information as it is sent to the web server. Mailing lists are only used by Telling the Truth for their stated purposes.
Opt Out/Opt In
Tellingthetruth.org allows users to opt out of receiving e-mail from our ministry. You can also request to opt out of our mailing list(s) by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, replying to an email from us, or clicking the unsubscribe link in an email from us. Telling the Truth also allows you to change the type of emails you receive by clicking the “update preferences” link when available in email communication.
