When election time approaches and debates fill the airwaves, certain social issues become fodder for discourse. Behind most social problems stand people - broken people, hurting people, real people. Unfortunately, we have historically either "turned a blind eye" or shouted so loudly that no one has listened.

The evangelical church has been called to be salt and light to a dark, dying, and desperate world. Salt was used as a preservative in the ancient world, and as Christ lives His life through us, we are called to battle the decay in our culture and share the light of Jesus.
