Sexual by Design

Stuart, Jill, and Pete Briscoe

Do you find it difficult to openly discuss issues on sexual identity, discretion, and morality from God's point of view? It seems that to an increasing degree the culture would prefer Christians remain silent on the topic of sex and instead embrace all variations of sexuality... promiscuity, sex before marriage, sex with others while married, and sex with the same sex.

God created us to be sexual beings. But He has a plan for our sexuality—a beautiful blueprint that will allow for us to experience sex in its fullness. Is it possible for us to share God's truth with a culture that has moved beyond how God defines us personally and sexually?

Sexual issues are not going to fade away and many people are struggling in this area of their lives. In this series, Pete, Stuart, and Jill talk openly on the subject of sex and how to address issues with truth and love according to God's design.

Messages From This Series:

  1. 1. A Christian View of Sex

    Stuart Briscoe

If we want to think seriously about living as Christians in this world, we have to address the issue of sex. What Scripture teaches and what society accepts as normal aren't even close.

In this message, Stuart begins in Genesis and shares what God, the inventor of sex, has to say on the subject. And it's more complex than you might think. The question becomes: Will we as believers embrace God's purposeful and strategic design for sex, or continue to pursue worldly sexual pleasure?

    Scripture:  1 Corinthians 6:12 - 6:20

  2. 2. Surrendered to Intimacy

    Pete Briscoe

It used to be that a marriage ceremony was the only glue necessary to keep a couple together. But today, more than ever, marriage has come under attack, and there are many forces pulling couples apart.

In this message from Pete Briscoe, he explores how many couples find that the physical intimacy they once craved, now escapes them. But there is one thing that every married Christian couple has that allows them to have a better sex life than anyone else! We can achieve that when we take time to sort through the truths and lies we have come to believe on the topic of sex.

    Scripture:  Genesis 1:27 , Genesis 2:20 - 2:25

  3. 3. Homosexuality

    Pete Briscoe

For people attracted to the same sex, the church is often the last place they want to be. But what if, as a Church, we make it a place they can come, hear the Truth, and experience God's love?

Whether you are personally struggling with same-sex attraction or you want to reach out to those who are, Pete shows us what Scripture says about homosexuality. Our sexual identity is deeply rooted in our created bodies, so how do we accept the truth of our being? And how, as a Church, can we guide others to God's truth and love?

  4. 4. Issues of Truth and Grace

    Pete Briscoe

The topic of homosexuality has caused devastating divisions in the Church. These divisions are evidence of the evil one in our midst, but how is the evil one dividing us? Pete defines the issue as a difference between truth and grace—some of us lean toward truth, others toward grace.

The Spirit in us is fully grace and truth, so how do we fully demonstrate both as we approach the topic of homosexuality?

    Scripture:  Luke 6:37 - 6:42

  5. 5. Sexual Morality

    Stuart Briscoe

Society encourages us to satisfy our sexual needs, but Scripture says our spiritual needs are of utmost importance. How does our spirituality apply to our sexuality? God established sex as a divine creation—its origins dating back to the Garden of Eden.

Can we morally hold true to our sexuality and enjoy it as God's divine creation? It can be a challenging line to walk, but Stuart shows how God's truth can guide us in reclaiming our bodies as He created them to be.

    Scripture:  1 Corinthians 6:12 - 6:20

  6. 6. Sexual Women

    Jill Briscoe

Has your perception of sexuality been warped? Our culture feeds us an idolized image of sex that is dramatically distant from God's intent. But just as the world is explicit about sex, so is God's Word! He clearly outlines His intent for the sexual experience.

During His ministry, Jesus demonstrated perfect love to all kinds of sinful people—including women known for their sexual sin. Jill points to Christ's encounters with these women, to reveal Jesus' standard for sexual behavior and of His grace when we fall. Can we accept His truth about sex and live according to His grace?
