In God We Trust

Pete Briscoe

Jesus commands us not to worry. Easier said than done! Tell that to a mother concerned about a hurting or wayward child, or a husband who is losing his job, or anyone awaiting the results of medical tests. Most of us are guilty of worrying sometimes. Isn't that to be expected, particularly when things aren't going well?

Pete Briscoe, a reformed worrier himself, explains that worry is the exact opposite of trusting in God. So how do you give up trying to control what's happening around you and believe that God is in control? How can you stop obsessing about what lies ahead, and be confident in the Lord?

Discover how you can sincerely trust God in any circumstance in this four-message series.

Scripture:Hebrews 11

Messages From This Series:

  1. 1. The Trust Equation

    Pete Briscoe

Have you ever worried because someone you love was late coming home? Did you find yourself worrying about where they were or what happened to them, and before you knew it your mind had created vivid images of a car accident or something horrible happening? God tells us to trust Him. So, when we worry it means we are sinning by not trusting Him.

    Scripture:  Hebrews 11:1 , John 4 , Luke 7

  2. 2. Looking Forward

    Pete Briscoe

Have you ever noticed how your day just seems better when the sky is blue and the sun is shining? In the same way, most people find it's easier to trust God when everything in their lives is going well. But what about when our skies turn gray and we get into a slump? How do we trust God then? This message by Pete explains the three ways we can overcome the gray skies and trust in God.

    Scripture:  Hebrews 11:4 - 11:7

  3. 3. Spiritual Looking

    Pete Briscoe

You've heard it said that some people look at the glass as half empty, while others see it as half full. The point of that statement is that your attitude determines on how you look at a situation. The same can be said of our faith. Our faith can be stronger depending on how we look at things. In this message, Pete explores the life of Abraham to explain to us what we should focus on in order to have strong faith.

    Scripture:  Hebrews 11:8 - 11:9

  4. 4. Faith and the Hard Things

    Pete Briscoe

Those who are going through a tough time often ask themselves, "How am I going to get through this?" Many times it may feel like you never will. But faith is something that can get you through anything. In this message, Pete looks at Hebrews 11 and uses the lives of Moses, Joseph, and Rahab as examples of how strong faith can get us through five hard things most people have to face.

    Scripture:  Hebrews 11:1
