Pete Briscoe Biography
Pete Briscoe was born in Kendal, a small town in North England into the ministry family of Stuart and Jill Briscoe. While his father traveled for months at a time with Torchbearers, an international ministry, his mother was very involved in sharing the Word of God with local kids through her street ministry. Pete grew up immersed in his parents' faith and evangelism.
In 1970, the family moved to America when Stuart accepted the job as senior pastor of Elmbrook Church in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pete was just seven years old and spent much of his young life in the bustling and growing church. It was not until 1982, after a mission trip to the Philippines that Pete realized God was calling him to ministry.
Pete completed his education at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, earning a degree in Speech Communication with minors in Bible and Political Science. He returned to Elmbrook to serve as the Junior High Pastor from 1985 through 1989. While at Elmbrook, Pete met and married his wife Libby, and they moved to Illinois so he could attend Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He completed his Master's of Divinity degree in just three years, while Libby supported the family as a physician's assistant. Shortly before finishing school, Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, invited Pete to join them as senior pastor, and he has served in that role since 1992.
With a passion for God's Word and expositional preaching, Pete has led a church expansion in which membership has grown ten-fold. Bent Tree recently completed an extensive expansion that allows it to minister to more of the community. When not at work, Pete and Libby are busy raising their three amazing children, Cameron, Annika, and Liam.
